Castroville-Area Families Invited to Free Recuérdame Day of the Dead Celebration October 30

NORTH MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. — October 28, 2026. Local families are invited to Recuérdame: A Day of the Dead Celebration at North Monterey County High School on Friday, October 30, according to the North Monterey County Unified School District.

The district’s announcement describes a free community event organized by Águilas Guerreras and partners, featuring ofrendas and art exhibits honoring loved ones, carnival games, food and performances by student and cultural groups. The announcement identifies the high-school Forum as the venue at 13990 Castroville Boulevard, Castroville.

Important: published times differ

Before making plans, families should note a discrepancy on the district’s own website. Its homepage calendar lists 5:00–7:30 p.m. while the more detailed event announcement lists 5:30–8:00 p.m. The date and general venue agree, but the time should be confirmed directly with the organizer.

Where to verify details

Check the North Monterey County Unified School District’s official calendar and announcements for the latest time, exact location and any changes. Day of the Dead community celebrations are cultural events; attendance or event outcome is not independently confirmed by California58.

Editorial note: This is a different event from the Castroville Elementary School Fall Festival listed on the same date.
