North Monterey County Schools Accept KidZone Applications for TK–6 Year-Round Child Care

CASTROVILLE, Calif. — October 28, 2026. North Monterey County Unified School District is accepting applications for KidZone, a year-round child-care and enrichment program for eligible children enrolled in transitional kindergarten through sixth grade, according to the district’s current announcement.

Where the program is offered

The district lists Castroville Elementary, Prunedale Elementary and Echo Valley Elementary as KidZone program locations. Its information says the program can cover before-school and after-school hours, non-school days and summer periods for eligible families.

Eligibility follows California Department of Social Services requirements. An application is not a guarantee of placement, and families should confirm any fees, availability and scheduling with the district directly.

How to apply

Paper applications are available at the Early Learning Office, Room 26, at Castroville Elementary School, with entrance at 1161 Merritt Street, on the Pajaro Street side. The district advises looking for the Castroville Preschool sign.

Families can call 831-633-3343, extension 1703 for additional information. See the district’s official announcement and Early Learning information before visiting.

This is an ongoing enrollment opportunity rather than an announcement that a new campus has opened. California58 will update this article if the district revises the application process.
